ESPECIALLY FOR LIP TATTOOS
I WANT FULLER LIPS, CAN I TATTOO OUTWITH MY LIPLINE ONTO THE SKIN?
Unfortunately, no you cannot. Although full lip colour can enhance how full the lips may look. We can not physically tattoo them bigger/fuller. The skin on your face is very much different to the skin on your lip, which would result in the pigment healing differently and your lips looking unnatural and odd. We suggest to research into lip fillers to achieve this first before tattooing.
I WOULD LIKE MY LIPS OUTLINED IN A DIFFERENT COLOUR, IS THIS POSSIBLE?
Unfortunately no. If you would like lip liner only, we would advise a pigment that matches your lip colour. Or, if you would like your lips to be a different colour to the lip liner we would advise to go for an ombre lip instead.
I HAVE A LIP PENCIL/LIPSTICK I LOVE, CAN I GET THE EXACT COLOUR
Because of the fact cosmetic tattooing is implanted into your skin and does not sit on it; it would make matching extremely difficult and it may appear differently. However, we do have a wide range of colours and will do our best to colour match (within reason) and we can also mix colours to achieve the shade you like.
WILL I SWELL/BRUISE AFTER TREATMENT?
Your lips will be swollen and may bruise after treatment. We advise an icepack for the swelling. You can take Arnica tablets from a week before your appointment until after they have healed to help/prevent bruising. ONLY IF THIS DOES NOT OR CONTRADICT WITH ANY MEDICATIONS OR YOUR HEALTH - Please consult with your Doctor or Pharmacist before taking Arnica.
IS IT PAINFUL?
The lips are a sensitive area to the face. However, topical cream is applied 30 mins before your apptointment and liquid anaesthetic is continually applied throughout the procedure for your comfort.
I GET LIP FILLERS, CAN I STILL HAVE THEM TATTOOED?
Yes definitely! We do recommend getting the fillers first to your desired size before seeing us. However, we recommend waiting 3 weeks after fillers to ensure lips are not still bruised/swollen or hard.
DO YOU SUFFER FROM COLD SORES?
This treatment can cause an outbreak. This can cause healing issues with your tattoo. Please discuss with your Doctor before booking your treatment and they can advise you what remedies you can take before your appt to prevent an outbreak.
WHAT IS THE AFTERCARE AND HEALING PROCESS?
The healing and aftercare process is completely different than other cosmetic tattoos. Generally, lips take the longest to heal. The colour will be extremely bright for 7-10 days then it will completely disappear and resurfaces approx 3-6 weeks later 60% faded.
They will feel chapped, we give you an ointment to use on your lips. Having chapped lips is all part of the healing process, at your appointment we will explain this in great detail and you will be given an Aftercare Sheet to take home.
If a Touch Up is needed, it must be after 6 weeks. If we did it any sooner, scarring can occur.
